Eye Lift Case #45
Cosmetic Facial Surgeon: Dr. Richard Rival
Procedures Performed: Eye lift
This Toronto area woman felt that her upper eyelids were droopy and made her look tired. She wanted to tighten up the extra tissue that was obscuring her eyes and giving her a sad, sleepy appearance. In her meeting with Toronto facial plastic surgeon Dr. Rival she also expressed a desire for him to correct the asymmetry of her eyelid tissues, which were more excessive on one side. Dr. Rival recommended an upper blepharoplasty to remove excess skin from above her eyes.
Sometimes, forehead wrinkling lowers the brows and allows the lids to sag and fold over the eyes. In those cases, a brow lift is generally enough to give them a more open appearance. However, this patient’s brows have a fairly good position, to begin with, so brow lift would not be appropriate for her case.
In her surgery, Dr. Rival made a small incision along the fold of the upper lid, and gently removed the excess skin and small patches of fat that had caused her lids to droop over the eyelash line. Some facial plastic surgeons tend to remove too much tissue, but Dr. Rival took a conservative approach using limited incisions and removing an appropriate amount of tissue to ensure good eyelid function.
The patient is enjoying great results from her cosmetic eyelid surgery in Toronto. This subtle change transforms the look of her eyes and brows, making her seem much more alert and refreshed. It also has the effect of restoring the look of her whole face to create a younger, happier appearance.
