This young woman had rhinoplasty in Toronto. She disliked the hump on her nose and felt the tip was a bit dependent pointing downwards which gave the nose excessive length. This downward orientation of the tip is often accentuated when you smile. The facial muscles in some people pull down and widen the nasal tip with smiling. This is why many patients dislike their nose in photographs more then in the mirror. She underwent an endonasal rhinoplasty where all the incisions are on the inside of the nose. One can see that the hump on the bridge has been reduced and the tip has been lifted. The width of the nasal tip has been narrowed only minimally. This is often best judged in the photo from below showing the nostrils (the basal view). As she had a relatively wide face with large eyes it was important not to narrow the tip too much as this would look un-natural on her face.
