This young woman was considering cosmetic surgery in Toronto because although she has attractive features, she felt that her sagging face and neck tissues appeared too full and made her appear prematurely old. In her consultation Dr. Rival examined her facial structure and discussed her goals. Based on her needs and physiology, he suggested a limited-incision facelift and necklift.
As we age, the platysma muscle in the neck and lower face may stretch and sag, creating neck “bands” that add to your neck wattle and make your facial tissues appear older and more wrinkled. A limited-incision facelift and necklift uses liposuction to eliminate any sagging fatty pockets around the neck and jaw, while the facelift suspends and tightens the platysma muscle. The combination of smoothing and tightening gives a younger tone and firmer look to both the front and sides of the chin.
After her procedure, the patient was very pleased with her results. She has a much crisper jawline, and the outer curve of her cheek is higher and more youthful. The new balance of her face focuses our eye on features like the eyes and mouth.
