Rhinoplasty Case #71
Cosmetic Facial Surgeon: Dr. Richard Rival
Procedures Performed: Rhinoplasty
This young woman did not like the shape of her nose. She had a convex shape to the profile with some ptosis of the tip. From the front the tip was a bit bulbous and had excess hanging in the region between the nostrils (sometimes called a hanging collumella). She underwent rhinoplasty in Toronto. A closed approach was the used. The bridge was reduced and the tip narrowed and lifted. She wished a natural looking straight profile and this was achieved. In a female nose especially we try to obtain a “supratip break.” This refers to the small depression before the tip that defines the tip and makes it stand out from the bridge. This is always an attractive feature when not too pronounced.
