Considering Brow Lift Cosmetic Surgery?

Sagging eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, vertical frown lines – there are a lot of ways that your brow can affect the appearance of your entire face. A brow that is too wrinkled or sagging can make you appear like you are constantly furrowing it in confusion – not letting you display your real emotions. Thankfully, there are a variety of brow lift cosmetic surgeries that can help you retake control of your appearance. This piece will explain what you need to consider before getting an operation like an endoscopic brow lift.

What is a Brow Lift?

A “brow lift” refers to any cosmetic surgical procedure that is used to help reduce the amount of excess skin or sagging skin on your forehead and brow. These procedures are very flexible – they can also be used to alter a hairline or be combined with alterations to the eyelids.

Generally, this procedure will involve an incision made in the scalp, generally hidden by the hairline to make it inconspicuous. Then, the cosmetic surgeon can make modifications to the muscles in this area – these muscles are what determine the shape of the face, such as frown lines. A brow lift will also often include the removal of excess skin, to help tighten up sagging and wrinkles. In general, it is a very personalized procedure, designed to maximize the appearance of the individual customer.

Many modern cosmetic clinics will also offer endoscopic brow lifts. These procedures involve the insertion of small video cameras under the skin. Such endoscopic brow lifts allow for extreme levels of precision while requiring less total surgery, as the cosmetic surgeon can work through small incisions.

Am I a Good Candidate For Brow Lifts?

It is a misconception that brow lifts are only for those of a certain age. Anyone who is unhappy with the amount of sagging skin or lines around or above their eyes is a good candidate for brow lifts. Anyone with excess skin or deep facial lines can benefit from this procedure. It is also a very safe medical procedure, with little chance of complications – if you are worried that your medical history might preclude you from brow lifts, just have a chat with your cosmetic surgeon.

What to Expect During a Brow Lift

As a brow lift involves some incisions and surgery, it is generally done with the use of a general anesthetic. This means that you will be out for the procedure, which normally won’t take more than a couple of hours. You can go home after the procedure but will need to take it easy for a day or so. Recovery time can take two to three weeks but can vary slightly from person to person.

After the procedure, there may be some swelling and bruising around the area that can last for two to three weeks. You can consult your cosmetic surgeon about what makeup products are good to use to conceal this.

Another frequently asked question is in regards to pricing. Brow lift cost can vary depending on exactly what is needed, and if it is combined with other procedures. Generally, this procedure with Dr. Rival can cost between $5000 and $6000, with HST.

As with all cosmetic surgery, determining the specific cost of a procedure requires a personal consultation that includes a physical exam. The price of a brow lift can be influenced by a number of factors, including the extent of the surgery and whether a patient chooses to combine it with other procedures.
